Brock Lesnar vs HHH Summerslam 2012 – A Review

Posted by sssjvsss on August 26, 2012

My thoughts or review on the much anticipated and hyped Brock Lesnar vs HHH match at 25th anniversary of Summerslam(2012). I liked the idea that they went for some thing that’s more a fight than a wrestling match. The damage was done with out any chair shots or any high risk (high flying, I mean) moves which was really good for the business and the wrestlers. Who ever wanted to see a pure wrestling match or a match with a lot of “Holy Shit” moments were sure disappointed. I wanted to talk about some of the spots in the match, and how did I feel about them.

1) I liked the idea that Brock won. I really liked the idea that Brock dominated the match and won. This was particularly very important for Brock as he returned, after say 8 years , after so much of hype and lost his first match. It was essential for Brock to make a statement to the new wwe fans who were not watching UFC.

2) A complete domination with repeated and continuous attack targeting the injured arm of HHH through out the match(with all those slams on the arm) made it clear why Brock is still the most dangerous guy in WWE. He is rabid, he is focused and has a clear cut game plan; not to miss, he is huge, powerful, strong and quick. He likes to hurt people; he has won them all and does not worry just about winning but rather just want to hurt them. This makes up for the fact that he lost to Cena. Just justifies that he wanted to kick Cena’s ass, and he did… moral victory.

3) The spot where HHH throws Brock over the top rope (for the second time), and yelled “This is my House – W.W.E and not UFC) with Brock coming back, taking his gloves off, doing a MMA style take down on HHH, with a knock out punch on the back of his head that completely floored HHH and Brock yelling at him back “This is MY House” was awesome. It could have been better if Brock did a wrestling move there, like a belly to belly suplex, which would have meant, Brock was not just a MMA guy, but he could wrestle as well. But then, WWE was not too interested in projecting the wrestling skills of Brock as it looked like.

4) HHH going for the abdomen of Brock was pure gold. HHH is the cerebral assassin, and they had made sure his gimmick did not get killed. The shots looked legit and the entire spot were awesome especially because the it was followed by HHH’s finisher Pedigree. Not to miss Spine buster was awesome as always.

5) The commentary was a little pathetic. Especially on the spot where Brock hit his abdomen on the announce table and sold it big and Cole was silent. It looked like Brock went back to HHH and asked him to punch his stomach again and yelled loudly “Ahhh… My Stomach” as if reminding Cole to talk about Brock having Abdomen issues in the past. How we missed J.R !!!

6) There was this spot where Brock did a roll up on HHH. Dint get the meaning of it !!! Brock wanted to destroy HHH, not just win him… But thankfully though, there were no other roll up or meaningless pinfall attempts otherwise. Liked the idea, Brock the heel, did not ask the referee to count HHH out when he was outside; because he wanted to destroy HHH, not just win.

7) The spot where Brock tried to suplex HHH and HHH countering it with a suplex of his own is tough to digest but again the story line was not to project Brock as a wrestler.

8) Paul Heyman is a GREAT addition in the match. He brought in a great ring-presence and he made up for the poor commentary. Three spots where Heyman was great are
a) Brock hit his stomach and the reaction of Paul was like “Oh SHIT !!! your weakness is exposed”.
b) Brock going for the low blow and the referee was not sure to ring the bell or not, Paul yelling “He wanted the fight” is an amazing spot, a reminder to all about the pre-match stuff.
c) The end – When HHH hit the second pedigree, the reaction of Heyman in the back ground was amazing. It just gave you the feeling that even he felt it was over, thus reducing the chances of some one anticipating the Kimura Lock coming back.

9) “You tapped out” chant on a baby face was OKAY. The match had to project HHH as some one whose spirit was broken and the match and the chant did that.

10) Why the match was not a “No DQ, No Count Out” match ?! Because the contract was signed already and could not be changed ? :/ ? not sure…

11) Not too many suplexes or super-plexes, no shooting star press or high flying moves, no table crashing moments or chair shots, no Brock-Lock, no power bombs, no Brock’s spine busters, no belly-to-belly throws and just one spot with German Suplex – Something many Brock’s fan would be disappointed with. But the signature corner shoulder blocks were impressive and the Kimura Lock looked like a killer move there.

All said, the match had done what it was expected to do(by business but not necessarily by fans). Put over Brock as a dangerous entity and build the platform for Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker feud at Wrestlemania.

HHH vs Randy Orton wwe title wrestlemania 25 2009

Posted by sssjvsss on April 6, 2009

During Triple H’s entrance, he threw a sledgehammer at glass and it smashed in front of him as he started heading down the ramp. They did ring introductions for the challenger Randy Orton and the champion Triple H.

The bell rings and here we go. Randy Orton circles Triple H who continues to stare down Orton. Triple H tackles Orton. Big right hands from Triple H to Orton. Triple H with stiff right hands to Orton putting him down in the corner. Triple H with some stiff kicks to Orton. The referee gets in Triple H’s face warning him that he will lose his title if he is disqualified. Orton then hits Triple H with an RKO out of no where! Orton then backs up attempting a punt to the head. Triple H dodges it, kicks Orton in the gut and hits a Pedigree! Orton rolls to the outside and Triple H follows decking him from behind. Triple H throws Orton across the announce table. Orton bails back to the ring as Triple H grabs a bottle of water and throws it on his face trying to regain some composure. Triple H hits the ring and takes out Orton with some big right hands. Orton bails outside again, Triple H follows, Orton tries to throw Triple H’s head into the ring post, but Triple H blocks and does it to Orton. Both are back in the ring and Triple H hits Orton with a stiff kick to the chest. Triple H with a catapult into the bottom rope on Orton. Triple H drives a knee into the side of Orton’s face.

Triple H hits the ropes and hits another knee across the head of Orton. Triple H with a lariat to the back of the head after hitting the ropes. Orton rolls out of the ring and Triple H follows. Orton tosses Triple H shoulder first into the steel ring steps. Orton then sends Triple H shoulder first into the ring barricade and over near the timekeeper. Orton returns to the ring and the referee starts the count. The referee counts…1…2…3…4…5…6…7…Triple H is back in and Orton meets him with some stiff kicks to the body. Orton with a big stomp over Triple H’s chest. Orton mounts Triple H and gets in some stiff rights. Orton with a kick and more right hands to Triple H. Triple H counters a headlock by Orton into a big back suplex. Orton with a powerslam on Triple H, hook of the leg and Triple H kicks out. Orton applies a side headlock keeping the action grounded. Triple H is to his feet and Orton backs him up with some stiff right hands. The two exchange right hands in the corner. Triple H with a big flying knee to Orton. Triple H with a clothesline in the corner, knee to the face, Pedigree attempt, Orton counters and catapults Triple H face first into the corner.

Triple H fires back with a big clothesline on Orton. Triple H hooks the leg and Orton kicks out after two. Triple H puts Orton up on the top turnbuckle, Triple H with right hands, Orton slips down and hits Triple H face first off the turnbuckle. Orton is on the second rope, jumps, Triple H gets a boot up, Orton counters and gets a rollup resulting in a two count on Triple H. Triple H with a rollup and Orton kicks out. Triple H with a big spinebuster on Orton in the middle of the ring. Triple H attempts a Pedigree, but Orton counters hitting Triple H with an inverted back breaker. Orton covers Triple H and Triple H barely gets a shoulder up after two. Triple H with an elbow to Orton. Triple H goes up to the top turnbuckle, but as he jumps down Orton catches him with a huge dropkick. Very impressive spot there. Orton backs up, attempts another punt, Triple H grabs Orton’s leg and lifts him backwards over the top rope to the outside. Triple H follows Orton out, hits a big right and then throws Orton into the announce table. Triple H then grabs a TV monitor and the referee warns Triple H that if he uses it he will be disqualified and will lose his title. Triple H throws down the monitor and then kicks Orton in the head.

Triple H has Orton up on the main WWE announce table with the spanish announce table also cleared off. Triple H stands over Orton, picks him up, attempts a Pedigree, but Orton counters lifting Triple H over his head and crashing over the spanish announce table. The table doesn’t break as Triple H moves around in pain. Orton grabs Triple H by his head, pulls him out and hits Triple H with a huge DDT over the floor at the ringside area. Orton rolls back into the ring and the referee starts the count. 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…Triple H rolls back in. Orton then begins stomping Triple H repeatedly. Orton props Triple H up in the corner and gets in a few right hands. Orton with more kicks to Triple H in the corner. Orton starts choking Triple H with his boot. Triple H with a big right hand, Orton sends Triple H into the referee and then Orton hits the RKO on Triple H. Orton then rolls out of the ring with the referee down and gets a sledgehammer. As Orton gets in the ring, Triple H punts him right in the head and Orton is out. Triple H then grabs the sledgehammer, cracks it over Orton’s head, Triple H tosses it away and hits some huge right hands on Orton. The referee breaks this up and Triple H picks up Orton. Pedigree attempt and Triple H connects. Cover…1…2…3.

Winner & STILL WWE Champion: Triple H

After the match, Triple H looks down over a beaten Randy Orton. We then see highlights of the match leading to the finish. Back live, Triple H is standing over Randy Orton and holds the WWE Championship up high in the air as a series of pyro goes off in the entrance area.

Detailed NO WAY OUT Results:1 SmackDown Elimination Chamber

Posted by sssjvsss on February 16, 2009

Jeff and Edge start off the things. In a shcoking early going Jeff rolls up Edge for a huge surprise elimination, so now we have a guaranteed new WWE Champion! Kozlov is in next, and goes to work on Hardy with a battering ram.

Big Show is next to enter, and it’s now Big Show vs Kozlov vs Jeff Hardy! Big Show is in control of the action as the three men battle it out. Kozlov takes control when he hits a battering ram head butt on Big Show. Show and Kozlov are going back and forth as Hardy is out in the corner of the ring.

Time is up and the next participant to enter the match is Triple H. It’s now HHH vs Big Show vs Kozlov vs Jeff Hardy. HHH hits the ring and clears the ring of everyone. He is in control.

The four pair off as Kozlov takes offense on Jeff Hardy in one corner and Big Show and Triple H go back and forth.  Big Show attempted a chokeslam on Triple H, but Triple H reversed, ran off the ropes, but was taken up for a Military Press and slammed hard to the mat.

Undertaker has now entered and is the last man in the match!

Taker enters and clears house with a huge boot to Kozlov and a clothesline in the corner for Triple H.  He attempts to double chokeslam HHH and Hardy, but Big Show catches from behind.

Kozlov takes the Undertaker to the corner and goes up for multiple punches.  However, the Undertaker delivers a huge Last Ride and gets the 3-count.  Kozlov has been eliminated!

Big Show tries to throw Jeff Hardy into the cage, but Hardy simply grabs the cage and starts to climb on top of one of the glass entrance cages.  Big Show starts to follow him up, but Undertaker comes and delivers a huge superplex from the top rope.

Big Show is eliminated!

Three are left and Hardy uses the Undertaker’s back to leap from and land on Triple H on the outside!  Sick move!  When he returns though, Undertaker surprises him with a Tombstone and a 3-count!

Jeff Hardy is eliminated.

Undertaker and Triple H are left and one will be the new Champion!  Triple H goes to the top rope, but Undertaker grabs him by the throat when he comes off, delivering a Chokeslam!  Two count.

Triple H lands a huge spinebuster.  He tries to go for a Pedigree, but Taker reverses with a slingshot into the cage.  He then lands a Tombstone! Undertaker covers, but Triple H puts his foot on the bottom rope right before the 3-count.

Pedigree!  But Undertaker kicks out at 2!  The two head to the corner.  They start swapping punches.  It carries over to the middle of the ring and one of Taker’s punches get the better of Hunter.  Taker throws Hunter to the corner.  He attempts a Last Ride, but Hunter reverses into a pedigree.

1…..2……3!

Your Winner & New WWE Champion:  Triple H!

* For those of you wondering, by the way, this makes Triple H a 13-time World Champion.

We cut to the back with Edge and Vickie Guerrero.  Edge is trying to convince Vickie that they could start the match over again and he should still be Champion.  She says it’s his fault because he lost.  She then apologizes for saying it as Edge gazes off in space with a look of disbelief that he just lost the title.

Shane McMahon challenging Randy Orton in a “No Holds Barred” match is next!  Stay tuned for play-by-play of this match.
